Cheryl Burke Was Molested

“Dancing With the Stars” pro-dancer Cheryl Burke recently wrote a tell-all book about her life called ‘Dancing Lessons’, in which she makes a few startling revelations that few people knew.

According to Burke’s book, the dancer admits that she was sexually molested beginning at the age of 5, as well as abused physically by two of her ex-boyfriends.

Burke recently told People magazine about the book’s release and it’s content, and she said, “I’m telling my story. They’re not secrets. There’s no shame.”

In the book, Burke discusses the molestation, and talks about the perpetrator, a former mailman who was well-known and trusted throughout her hometown of Atherton, California. The man would often pick Burke up from school and help out with things around her house.

The dancer said that at first she didn’t realize just how wrong the man was behaving. She recently said, “I felt guilty for wanting his love and affection.”

She later testified in court against the man, after other kids came forward about his abuse against them. “I saw his face and lawyers were asking me these questions and I was like, ‘What am I doing? Did he even do anything wrong?’”
