Katherine Heigl Leaving Grey’s Anatomy

Katherine Heigl Leaving Grey’s Anatomy – Katherine Heigl, who has been a mainstay on Grey’s Anatomy since the beginning of the show, will no longer be a part of it. While this has not been confirmed as of yet, the buzz around Hollywood is that she has already made her decision, and that the last season will be the last on Grey’s for Katherine Heigl. Heigl rose to popularity through her work on Grey’s Anatomy, but soon caught the eye of larger Hollywood executives, and soon featured some success from movies like “Knocked Up”, in which she played a women who becomes unexpectedly pregnant from a less than desirable man, played by Seth Rogan.
This comes to the disappointment of many fans as it appears that the final episode that will feature Heigl may have already aired, and she will not be producing any episodes for the upcoming season or the end of this one. Unfortunately this has left several loose ends in the plot that will not be able to be tied up if Heigl does not make another appearance.
Heigl was once awarded in Emmy for her job playing Dr. Izzie Steven’s on Grey’s Anatomy. She was supposed to show up on the set on March 1st to continue filming for this season, but it was reported that she did not show for her first day of filming. It has been reported that the creator of the series, Shonda Rhimes, will more than likely agree to release Heigl from her contract and allow her to go explore other opportunities. Heigl has been involved in a few controversies over the last few years, including a public feud with Isaiah Washington for using a orientation slur at the 2007 Golden Globes.
