Larry King Live Ends On CNN

It seems that Larry King has officially ended his run on CNN television after being a staple of the talk show world for 25 years. King, 77, had said earlier this year that he would “hang up his nightly suspenders” and move on from his monumental talk show “Larry King Live”. His last official show was on Thursday, when he told his audience goodbye for the last time.

“I never thought it would ever last this long or come to this. I’m going to go on, do a lot of other things, we’re going to specials here on CNN. I’m going to be seen in other places and do some radio work.

You’re not going to see me go away, but you’re not going to see me here on this set anymore. I don’t know what to say except to you, my audience, thank you. And instead of goodbye, how about so long?” King said in his farewell speech to the crowd.

There were numerous celebrities and public figures who wished King well, including former President Bill Clinton, President Barack Obama, Brian Williams, Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, and Katie Couric.

Piers Morgan, a talk-show host from Britain, will take over King’s time slot.
