Blue Bloods & CSI: NY Win Friday TV Ratings

Blue Bloods & CSI: NY Win Friday TV Ratings – It appears that CBS has returned to old form now that the ratings for “CSI: NY” and “Blue Bloods” have been released. “Medium” underperformed, and was supplemented by NBC “Dateline season premiere. These shows must now maintain their ratings.

The CW also received decent ratings with the premieres of “Smallville” and “Supernatural.”

FOX however, was unable to hit gold with their new shows “The Good Guys,” and NBC “Outlaws” premiered to disappointing numbers.

CBS was able to win the night as a whole with a 1.8 rating, narrowly beating out the 1.4 rating that NBC had in the key demographic. The CW, somehow, was able to finish third ahead of ABC’s 1.1 and FOX’s 0.8, with a 1.2.

1 – CBS: “Blue Bloods” series premiere (12.7 million, 7.9/15)
2 – CBS: “CSI: NY” premiere (10.3 million, 6.5/12)
3 – NBC: “Dateline: NBC” (7.9 million, 5.4/10) – 9 PM
4- NBC: “Dateline: NBC” premiere (6.5 million, 4.5/9) – 8 PM
5 – CBS: “Medium” premiere (6.1 million viewers, 4.0/8)

It is interesting that the CW has been able to garner so many viewers with their new shows. Overall, CBS had a commanding lead with 9.737 million total viewers.

It will be interesting to see if ABC and FOX can find a way to get more viewers to tune into their new shows in the coming weeks. Perhaps the new series suffered from weak trailers, and will find an audience as the story-lines develop. Of course, both networks are known for cutting a show when it does not find an immediate following.

Selleck needs to play a more important role like this weeks show. (closing the cold case) I really loved his TV movies, Jesse Stone, so if Blue Blood doesn’t make it hopefully he’ll go back to that.
