The Office Season 7 Episode 9: WUPHF.com S07E09

“WUPHF.com” is the title of this evening’s episode of the hit series The Office that was broadcast on NBC. The installment that was vaguely inspired by the movie The Social Network focused on Ryan who decided to get his colleagues to invest in his internet business – a website called “WUPHF.com” (which is actually a real/imaginary website and can be found at the following address http://www.wuphf.com/ and also serves as a redirection to The Office’s official website) where you receive all of your emails, text, tweets and phone calls.

By the end of “WUPHF.com” Micheal was forced to pick between his employees who wanted Ryan to sell the site to Washington University Public Health Fund so they can get their investments back or let him pursue with the project which was bound for failure.

The subplot of the episode which was actually way funnier that the main one, dealt with Dwight finally getting his contract void by Angela while scamming poor kids into believing that they can have fun on his cheap Hay Ride.

This story line was absolutely ridiculous, and very entertaining. Here is a brief recap of the episode:

More than money is at stake as Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) helps charm people into investing in Ryan’s (B.J. Novak) internet company. Dwight (Rainn Wilson) capitalizes on both the Thanksgiving holiday and his childhood memories by creating a hay festival in the parking lot, while Jim (John Krasinski) discovers that a new Dunder Mifflin policy prevents him from earning commission.

We do not really get the chance to see that much of Ryan, so the plot was an opportunity to have the spotlight on this douche like character who seems to exist to solely leech off Michael.

To be honest it was not a brilliant episode we will even go as far as saying that The Office is not what it used to be, but we still appreciate the funny one liners.

Here are two quotes that we loved:

Pam :”I married the nice guy. Now I want a bedroom suite.”
Stanley Hudson :”Yes, I have a dream. … I want to own a decommissioned lighthouse. And I want to live at the top. And nobody knows I live there. And there’s a button I can press and launch that lighthouse into space.”
